This season, as I was flipping through the threads of SnS, this one avi stuck out to me among all the others. It belongs to the lovely and darling Monkichi, and I say it reflects a lot of her. She is so sweet, that I can just imagine a door open with lots of candy falling out because the room was over-flowing with the sweetness. It is very simple, and very cute. It was hard not to smile when seeing it, that’s for sure! So, congrats Monkichi!

Since this is the Spring Edition of the Scribbler, I felt it was appropriate to have a sort of “Spring-y” feel to our signature selection. Lucky for us, Sky has the perfect one! Her love and obsession for Yoh and Anna is definitely displayed in this sig, but it is still very adorable. (I think even those that aren’t as obsessed as she is can admit to that.) So, reflecting on the season of love, this sig is very simple but still brings the “awwww” effect that leaves most people feeling warm and fuzzy all over. Thank you Sky, for having such a cute sig!

So you people know what a huge Yoh Anna fan I am. As in, can you THINK of a better couple?! SO NOT! But still, so like, I was browsing about one day, don't remember when, for any Yoh Anna fic I actually HAVEN'T read yet (word of advice, alway check with the search engine coz in the main category you can never find reliable results). So anyway back to the topic: I was browsing about when suddenly I got accross this really brilliant story that I could read again, and again, and again. I mean, seriously, you can get lost in the fic, imagine every detail and just see Yoh and Anna the way she says they are. It's a one shot and the writer has titled it "So She Dances" by Anti Nostalgic Angel. CLICK ON THE TITLE! You won't be wasting your time. Srsly.

Anime Character of the Season - Youichi Hiruma (Eyeshield 21)

The anime character featured for this season is Youichi Hiruma, from the manga and anime Eyeshield 21.
Apart from being a founding member, Hiruma is also the captain and strategist of the American football team, the Deimon Devilbats. His goal, along with the rest of the team, is to win the Christmas Bowl and show Japan that the Devilbats are the best.
His means in achieving this goal are ruthless, often involving blackmail and manipulation to reach his ends. However, this only extends as far as the edge of the football field. In-game, HIruma plays fair, using strategy and maximizing every asset his team has to win, and win he does. Even against huge odds, the Deimon Devilbats have won many times, thanks to the leadership of Youichi Hiruma.
All of these, especially his methods and his infamous "Devil's Handbook" (read: Blackmail notebook) are what makes him a character worth mentioning.

Wow... very slow season we had.
Hojo's Mata Hari has people just dying to know who their secret santa was, and the guesses are still being posted! Is Hojo ever going to reveal her little secret about the Dorkifier?
Big congratulations are in order for DAK and DJ who have finally tied the knott. Jeez, talk about a long engagement, I don't think we've had a longer one in the history of SnS!!
We welcomed back two of our older Scribbles members, SV and Malik, who have wandered their way on back with their usual nuttiness. Who knows what kinda mischief those two have brought back with them, but perhaps it will bring some spark back to good old SnS.
Huge drop in participants for the Monthly Festivities, but the stories are as good as ever! Jess really knows how to pick those titles and all the pieces are just gorgeous. You all should really go to the Monthly Festivities board in the Scribbler Vault and read them over. They're just to die for!
Bring in more gossip, people! And more meat newbies! We've not had a new person in here for months, and that is very much not good.

Monthly Festivities

Wonderful pieces in the monthly writing festivities, once more! The number of entries are slacking though, which is very sad. We all love the competition which makes our stories flesh out and brings out those creative juices.
The submissions range from serious to anything but serious, so they are all worth checking out, no matter what kind of mood you are in!
December's theme was sweets, which brought an enthusiastic grab up, but only a couple submissions. Sweet overload keeping people from posting? Who knows, but like the theme, the submissions were very sweet indeed. Yummmm.
Spurred by the changing year, January's theme was Alchemy, resulting in quite a few takers, but not many submissions, once more.
Dance was the theme for February, and as seems to be the pattern, it brought out the highest amount of both claimers and submissions! Looks like we have quite the music and dance lovers in our contestants.

It is an absolute and utter crime against nature not to enjoy sweets.
That is what the title of the book states.
I beg to differ.
There is absolutely nothing even remotely delectable nor desirable about that overly sugary and teeth rotting substance.
But the book states it, therefore it is so.
So says my friend to whom the book belongs to.
Once again, I beg to differ.
The book is her personal notebook, one that comes with pretty stickers and shiny markers and lets you decorate the front cover.
There is no way I am about to allow the book which my sugar-loving friend bought, named and decorated dictate what I do and do not enjoy.

It's an abhorrently disgusting and brain-shriveling thing that is not liable to be even called food, with hundreds of unneeded substances that will rot your body. How could you not not like them?

Book Review

This season's book review is for the book The Eyes of the Dragon by none other than Stephen King.
Now, you might be thinking right now "What?! Stephen King writes horror! I'm not going within 5 feet of it!" Well, shockingly enough, it's actually not a horror book, and the story is quite an interesting one. However, what I liked most about this book is not what was written but how it was written.
The story of Eyes of the Dragon follows the royal family of the country of Delain, King Roland and his two sons. However, it reads as if you are sitting at the foot of a bard, who is telling this tale (for indeed, the narrator uses the first person "I" quite a bit). However, this narrator seems to have been in many places at once! You get the interesting perspectives and doings of all characters involved at the same moment. You see all sides of the story as you follow Flagg, the Evil Magician and Head Advisor to the King who is plotting the demise of Delain; King Roland, the old and slow-minded Good King that is manipulated until his death by Flagg; Prince Peter, the good prince and elder son, who is wrongfully accused for the murder of his father; and Prince Thomas, a misunderstood younger son, who yearned only for his father's love. Can this royal family overcome a monster that has plagued their land for, literally, hundreds of years?! Or will Flagg simply return and attempt his evil plots on a later generation?
Stephen King winds a fabulous tale of suspense, intrigue and nail-biting anticipation that will make you cry to turn the last page. His unique way of building the suspense and then teasing it just that little bit more is well worth reading and studying, for he is certainly the master of it (as most good horror writers are).
My Rating? 4.5 out of 5!

Interview With Sarah

Garr.: ------INTERVIEW-------
Garr.: Sky, we SnSers haven't seen you on recently. Why is that? And I don't want any smart ass answers concerning college and saws...
:[Sarah:[: well...there are several reasons connecting to that one act you know.
Garr.: Is it another guy?
:[Sarah:[: >___> no.
Garr.: IS HE BETTER THAN ME?
:[Sarah:[: Honestly, CAN'T YOU PEOPLE THINK OF SOMETHING ELSE?!
Garr.: While we're on the topic, what new realizations have you realized while realizing your new adult life in college?
:[Sarah:[: ...That instead of getting the instinct to kill the guy strip dancing in my class I get the urge to just look away and pray that is not happening.
Garr.: Did he use a pole?
:[Sarah:[: There was no pole
:[Sarah:[: IT WAS A CLASS!
Garr.: Okay. That's enough about that. Let's move on to your online life. Do you think college will begin to move in on your life as a member of SnS, even more than it already has?
:[Sarah:[: ...I...guess. I'm not sure. I'm hoping work load would lessen as soon as my wood work project is completed. Which hopefully may be next Saturday and not this one. know I would be free enough for the two to four weeks following. I'm not sure after that. But to tell you the truth, in uni it’s like another SnS. Everyone as nice and fun loving as everyone in SnS. So I don't feel that lonely. But I still miss SnS. And I feel I have drifted away from it.
Garr.: You love us?
:[Sarah:[: Nopes >_>
Garr.: What is love?
:[Sarah:[: ...I have no idea.
Garr.: Where in the world is Carmen Sandiego?
:[Sarah:[: ... Who is that? o_____________________o
Garr.: WHERE'S WALDO?!
:[Sarah:[: ...I drowned him in the swamp. >_>
Garr.: How's Phos?
:[Sarah:[: THERE IS NO PHOS!
Garr.: Onto more serious business. What was your reaction to the death of Benzir Bhutto?
:[Sarah:[: ah. I couldn't believe it. I kept staring at my mom when she said it. And when I heard the news myself, it was like one of those huge changes in the world you never expected. More for we always thought she would survive everything that comes before her.
Garr.: What do you think will happen now? And what do you WANT to happen?
:[Sarah:[: things are pretty unpredictable. As long as other countries stopped interfering with their own opinions on how to run Pakistan, because on this part I agree with Parvez Musharraf, Pakistan can't run like other countries because the people and the culture is completely different. We still need to stabilize after everything other politicians did to us. I think things are going to get better though. A few months ago we were so used to bombs etc that it wasn't a surprise if any kid came and blew himself up. Did you know most of the suicide bombers were 15 to 16 years old?
Garr.: That's younger than a lot of the members of SnS.
:[Sarah:[: Yeah it is. And their parents never knew about it. They don’t know until it’s too late. Those kids are most of the time emotionally tortured to do this
Garr.: They're coerced into it?
:[Sarah:[: not entirely. Some are told all their sins would vanish and it’s a good cause. Just like American army are being told to fight because it’s a good cause. Those are adults who believe they are doing things justly. These are just teenaged kids.
Garr.: Are you surprised that I'm this aware of international events?
:[Sarah:[: lolz, sort of. To me these news are big so I don't know if they are as big to other people
Garr.: But you think things will get better, yeah?
:[Sarah:[: definitely. Things are looking up... Now if only India would stop jumping up and down claiming Pakistan holds Osama and others. Who knows if America targets my country next? >_> I did not do all that stuff in my uni to have it go to waste!
Garr.: I think this is the first actual serious interview. HAHA.
:[Sarah:[: lolz, yeah
:[Sarah:[: I never thought I'd be the one giving it -_-. Growing up is so not nice
Garr.: And that I'd be the one interviewing you. ME OF ALL PEOPLE
:[Sarah:[: I gtg now though
